After showing our new outdoor cooking area at our cabin in a post recently, it occurred to me that I should show a photo of this gorgeous one that we completed for a client a couple of years ago. While the photo doesn’t show the cooking area close up it does give another perspective to the possibilities that these covered outdoor dining and cooking areas can become.

The many fir french doors lead into the dining room, the living room and the wide area that joins the two, the look and function of these doors used in this manner is quite amazing. The fir exterior beams that you see extend back in to the house, this helps in the seamless transition from inside to out on the patio. You still feel as though you are in the house even when lounging on the patio.

The concrete paving stones add a gorgeous texture and colour that compliments the natural stone pillars and stone BBQ area. Cedar siding, trim & soffits combine beautifully with the other natural materials to give this area the warmth and serenity that is so relaxing when sitting with your glass of wine enjoying the panoramic view.
