As the year comes to a close, I can say that we are proud of and happy for the progress that has been made throughout the past year, 2011 has been a very active one at Nile Landing!

So many new families are now residing on Creekside Drive and one more home will be completed for it’s homeowner to move into in the early spring. Three more homes will be starting soon as well, one custom and two specs! The lights that now shine down the street in the evening are a comforting and inviting beacon, we look forward to seeing more in the coming months as the next homes are built and moved into.

Just this month we had a new sign made to replace the older one that was out on the highway, we are very pleased with the results! It is more substantial, permanent and easier to read ~ it is placed at the emergency access lane way at the bottom of the culde sac and beginning of the walking trails.

The two signs on Creekside Drive that have the layout of the subdivision on them have been updated with their sold signs, a visual indicator of our progress!

Since we wrote the November update, Lot 8 has been chosen by a builder, who actually began excavation for the foundation today for the new home that he will be building. This home will be for resale and judging by the plans and their product choices, it will be very nicely done. I will be sure to post photos of it’s progress through the coming months. The photo below shows what a deep and level property Lot 8 is.

Lot 28 that was purchased in November has now been cleared and is ready for the next machine to arrive to begin the excavation, they will begin construction of this home as soon as their building permit is finalized. Another lovely spec house is planned for this lot, it will have quite a nice ocean view from the great room, master bedroom and decks!

If you are considering a change of location in the new year, these two homes will be ones to keep an eye on for sure!

The custom home that we are building on Lot 15 is coming along well, the roofing is complete, the windows are installed, the rough-ins for the heating system, the plumbing and electrical are all almost complete and the weatherproofing membrane has sealed the house from the elements. Our carpenters have put temporary plywood doors in place to lock it up until the proper doors arrive in January, the front entry door has been covered over with the membrane for now.

Since our November update, one of the existing homes (photo below) has been listed for sale – the builder that lives in this home would like to sell and build their next home on a different Nile Landing property. Their house is cute as can be, has a perfect layout, is well built, and backs onto the park ~ what more could anyone ask for! Should you be interested, the listing agent is Clinton Miller at Royal Lepage in Qualicum Beach.

Well, I think that wraps up our news for this year ~  we go into the New Year sending out wishes to everyone for a healthy and prosperous 2012!
