I think I will do a little three or four part series that will show you some of the quirky commercial buildings that grace “downtown” Hornby. Each one, while working in perfect harmony with each other, all have their own personalities. The pictures will give you an idea of Hornby’s unique style; relaxed, creative, accepting and fun!
One of the most delightful mornings or afternoons can be spent at the Ringside Market, we love to sit with a coffee or an ice cream under the huge flowering plum and chat with people or just sit quietly and absorb the special atmosphere. I took these pictures last month before the foliage was all out so that the buildings can be seen more fully, so it does look a bit different now being that it is the middle of May.
The Co Op contains almost anything you could need, it has groceries, hardware, toys, gardening supplies, a liquor store, the post office and absolutely everything for a day at the beach. It is truly the hub of the community and the grounding business of the Ringside Market.
Fibers Clothing store has an amazing selection of women’s and children’s clothing, summer sandals, jewelry, handbags & hats. They always have something that catches your eye and begs to be tried on! The owner of the store and the gals that work there are always helpful and there is never a feeling of pressure to purchase!
Isn’t this the sweetest little Real Estate office you’ve ever seen? The window of homes & properties for sale almost always has someone perusing the information posters. During the summer months the girls have a board out on the porch that lists the daily community events, it is a great help because there is always so much going on all over the island!
I am excited to show you the the other “downtown” buildings but will not overload one post with too many!
