This stage of the foundation looks so much tidier! With the forms all stripped off and taken away and the footings all stripped of their wood, the hardest part of getting the foundation finished is now done.

Working from level and tidy ground makes it so much easier and safer for the crews to begin the framing.

The sectioned spaces between the footings have all been filled in with screenings and compacted, just prior to the poly being put in place to have the ground seal poured. The pouring of the ground seal was done this morning, it worked out great because the temperatures were well above freezing and there was no rain.                                                                                                                                                              The foundation coating was applied to the exterior of the foundation walls a few days ago and the backfilling has all been completed.                                                                                                                                                           All of these corners not only help to create a stronger home they also add so much interest – we always think that interesting aspects should take place around the sides and back of a home and not only be saved for curb appeal.

Tomorrow they begin the pony walls in the crawl space and the I – joists arrive on Thursday – so, quickly there will be a floor to walk on! Then the real fun begins, seeing the rooms take shape…..
