One of the custom homes that we have been working is just 5-6 weeks away from being complete – all of the decisions that the homeowners have been busy making over the past months are coming together. The trades are putting these choices into place and if you can look past the busyness of tools, scaffolding and other necessary messes you will see a lovely home emerging.

Most of the window and door trim is now in place and painted, the doors are all stood up in one of the rooms with a coat paint on them, the undercoat and first coat of paint is on the walls, the rock is going on the living room fireplace and the tile work is complete. The tile in a couple of the rooms was completely covered with heavy paper and plastic to protect them so I couldn’t really take photos of those.

The wood flooring will be delivered this week and start to go in once it has acclimatized and after the fireplace is finished, then next will be the cabinets, baseboards & crown mouldings ~ this point in a new home is so exciting! There can be a little bit of nervous excitement for the homeowners as it all comes together, it is a natural point to worry if the choices will all work as planned and dreamed about.

As soon as the snow decides it is done with us for the season, some of the preparations for the landscaping will resume as well.

Soon …… another couple will be moving into their new home!
