For the most part the ceilings heights in this house are at 9 feet with the exceptions being the living room portion of the great room and entry way that both reach 11 feet. This higher area is now wrapped with a deep crown moulding and looks wonderful.

Ceilings and floors
The engineered oak floors are installed throughout the main living areas and have started to define the look we have been working towards achieving! It is always so fun to see the products installed that bring all of those hours of decision making into focus.

Cabinets
Even more exciting than the floors of course are the cabinets! So many hours are spent reviewing all of the details that need sorting out – appliance locations, drawers & doors, recycling bins, cutlery trays, styles of doors, material choices, colour choices, counter tops and more. Whew!! With all of that done, they are going in!! They are all turning out just as I had hoped they would and I do think it will be a great kitchen to work and entertain in. The kitchen window even has a bit of an ocean view through the lovely trees.
The next post will have a picture of the completed cabinetry (they really turned out nice) – I have them on our other computer but had deleted them from the camera so I need to take some new ones. For me, building a house is far easier than operating digital cameras, a Mac and a PC !!
